Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island called West Island. The West Island can be confusing to people unfamiliar to its significance. Many people believe that it's an island to the west of Montreal, but it is actually a part of the city. West Island encompasses everything between the two cities that are Lachine as well as West. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. However, it's not the case. Brugel became an aspiring young lady living in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. The teacher suggested she try to get a role for school's annual production. It was her choice to take on the main character of Anne of Green Gables after she auditioned for. She was given the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to go to York University's Theatre Program and graduated from the program in 2000, earning a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. In the last 20 years, her roles on TV and the big screen have been numerous. Her role as Rita from the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale was her most famous. Brugel is the sole Canadian on the season 1 cast of the show as well as appearing only on occasion, was the sole Canadian.
